A Healing Place
A Healing Place® in Bloomfield, Connecticut, offers clients a specific acupressure technique known as Integrative Acupressure. Like other Oriental bodywork techniques, Integrative Acupressure utilizes the Oriental understanding of health characterized by the forces of Yin/Yang, and the Five Elements of nature. It differs from other acupressure techniques (e.g. Shiatsu, Jin Shin Do) in that it is designed to allow the inclusion of other approaches, e.g. reflexology, energy balancing, muscular repatterning etc. making it more comprehensive than utilizing any one single method of treatment. The inclusion of other techniques also allows the practitioner to structure sessions for each client appropriately, with respect to their personal needs and boundaries.
Following a complete an analysis of the client's body/mind imbalances, the practitioner will utilize finger pressure and muscle and tissue manipulation techniques, to release energy blocks, allowing the body to heal itself. As obstructions in the energy are removed, changes occur for the client which may require treatments to be modified. The inherent flexibility of this system offers the client optimum support in their healing process.
While a client may choose acupressure as their sole method of treatment, A Healing Place® also offers Chinese herbal medicine therapy which clients may either utilize in conjunction with acupressure, or separately. There are many Chinese herbal medicine remedies that are natural alternatives to common over the counter medicines. These time tested Chinese herbal medicine remedies are for common ailments that affect nearly everyone now and then. Many of these are available on-line from A Healing Place®. Or search the list of symptoms to see which remedies may be right for you. If you wish to order off-line, a printable order form is available for mail-in or FAX orders.
